The first dissemination meeting of project was held on 27 March 2018 at the Gazi University
The first dissemination meeting under the scope of our project was held on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at Gazi Education Faculty F Blok Conference Hall. Gazi University Special Education Department was the hosting organization of the meeting. Managers and teachers (mainly pre-school teachers) of the educational institutions operating in the public and private sectors, the academicians working in the relevant departments of the universities, representatives of the project partner institutions and representatives of the relevant ministries were attended the meeting.
The opening speeches of the meeting were done by the project coordinator, Asuman Erdem, ZİÇEV Chairman, Ülay Karakoç and the Deputy Undersecretary of Ministry of Education, Assoc. Prof. Mustafa Hilmi Çolakoğlu. Following the opening speeches of the meeting, Uğur Ersoy from ZİÇEV and Assoc. Dr. Prof. Dr. Necdet Karasu from Gazi University shared the results of the fieldwork in Ankara, which was held to determine the current situation and their training needs of pre-school teachers working in inclusive classroom settings. They also provided information on pilot studies conducted with pre-school teachers in six selected pilot schools in Ankara throughout the project.
Later in the meeting, questions from the participants were answered by the project team. The Deputy Undersecretary of Ministry of Education Assoc. Dr. Mustafa Hilmi Çolakoğlu also explained the importance of both using the project outputs by the teachers and taking sustainable steps either during or after the completion of the project.
The findings of the field work will contribute to the design process of the training program being prepared for pre-school teachers within the scope of our project. Pilot studies in selected pilot schools will provide input to the design process of the training program through finding the answer of the questions ‘what they want', ‘’how they want', along with considering ''teachers to teachers'' perspective.
The project will be completed by the end of August 2018. The studies to be carried out until the end of project can be summarized as follows.
• Finalization of the training program for pre-school teachers,
• Developing an evaluation tool that will help teachers to follow their classes in terms of inclusiveness,
• Embedding the training program and the evaluation tool into the Project web page for the target group teachers,
• Enrichment of the project website with information and documentation that will highlight the teacher's perspective in order to make it a platform that allows more users to visit and to receive information.
